- Always ensure that your carbon monoxide detectors are working accurately. Mark your calendars and test your detectors twice a year to ensure they are functioning properly.
- If the fireplace has glass doors, never burn gas logs when the doors are closed. Doing so can lead to a build-up of heat behind the doors and cause a catastrophe.
